Volunteers needed

If you are able to help leading up to the event, with small jobs the day of, or cleaning up on Sunday please let us know. 

Raffle

We have a Te Karaka Escape to raffle.


Te Karaka Lodge is a luxurious rural escape into nature, surrounded by breathtaking landscape, located 95km from Auckland in the heart of Waikato farmland. The raffle prize is an all-inclusive one night escape, with one night in a Deluxe Room plus a three course dinner & breakfast for two.

Engraved Bricks

We are creating a Centenary Path - and it is an opportunity to join the celebrations, even if you cannot make it to the event.

 

Just make a donation over $200 - you can add it to your registration or email for details

Ordering merchandise

You can order a tee or polo on the registration form or email us. They are $50 each, let us know:

- tee or polo

- size, mens or womens

- your address

And we’ll confirm the total (including postage) and payment details. 


Event Programme Highlights

Friday

  • Guests can assemble at the Waikaretu Hall from 12:30 pm, before crossing over to the school at 1 pm for the poowhiri.

  • Following the poowhiri there will be speeches by current Waikaretu School representatives, the opening of a time capsule and burying of a new time capsule. 

  • Until 4 pm there will be time to socialise, current students will lead tours of the school and run olden day games 

  • Hangi will be delivered to the school from Weraroa Marae for those that wish to stay for dinner


Saturday 

  • The event starts at 11 am, with speeches, a cake auction and tree planting

  • There will be a food truck operating from 12 pm

  • Following the official items there will be photos of former students by decade and former staff. You can order and pay for the photos at the event. There will be time after the official photos for family and whaanau group photos if you would like to have them taken. 

  • The event will wind down at 3 pm


Saturday evening

  • Doors open at 5 pm

  • Dinner is served at 7 pm

  • The band finishes and bar closes at 11:30 pm

  • NB: We do not have a BYO license
