Waikaretu School - Striving for Excellence

Getting to know our Board Members

Tim Orlando Reep

Hi, I'm Tim Orlando Reep and I have recently been elected to the Board of Waikaretu School. It's an exciting time. My daughter, Anya is in Year 6 this year and over the last few years the school has thrived, growing from 8 to 26 kids, which is both exciting and challenging!

During the day I occupy myself with a few interests – I currently work as a Technical Field Officer for Farmlands Cooperative, which gives me a great opportunity to travel around the area and talk to like minded individuals about their businesses, farming operations and catch up with their families.

As well as this I operate a family farm of 200 ha in the next valley over. My wife, Joce and I have a 6 month old baby girl Sasha, ready to keep the school roll up in 4.5 years time!

Jeremy Leigh

I was elected onto the board in the July elections 2019.
I have been involved with other governance roles and am really enjoying learning about our role on the board and focusing on positive outcomes.
I’m also the treasurer for the neighbouring Glen Murray Community Association and like to be involved in community events. I’m currently farming sheep and beef cattle on the family farm with my wife and 3 kids (2 at school), my sister and her family and my parents. Prior to farming I have worked as a veterinarian for many years and worked in the UK from 2001-2005.
I really believe we are so lucky to have a great little school like Waikaretu on our doorstep that can provide the best possible start for our kids. I share the role of property at present on the board, but like the rest of the team, will be focused on the best learning outcomes for all the pupils, at every level.
